These damn ducks were painted for the Federal Junior Duck Stamp Competition, on the insistence of my high school art teacher, Pat Gilbertson. I never really liked ducks, but after three weeks of staring at them 2-3 hours a day, I loathed them and had started to twitch whenever the word "ducks" came up. This piece won Best of Show for the state of Minnesota and placed fifth in the national competition.
Look at those beady little eyes. Ducks...
